Calling All Crafty Artists: Morris Museum to Exhibit NJ Work

The always-inventive Morris Museum is calling for submissions from Garden State artists who specialize in crafts that accessorize people and places ...

The New Jersey Arts Annual is a unique series of exhibitions highlighting the work of visual artists and craftspeople throughout the state in the areas of fine arts and crafts. One event happens each year in either fine arts or crafts, in altering sequence. This year, the focus is on crafts, and the exhibition is open to any artist currently living or working in New Jersey.

For the 2015 New Jersey Arts Annual in Crafts, the Morris Museum in Morristown will feature an eclectic mix of artists who have explored the concept of "accessorizing" both people and places. The exhibition will celebrate traditional crafts that are presented in unexpected ways. From wearable art (like jewelry and fabrics) to accessories for the home (think furniture and other decorative items), this showcase of craft artisans will epitomize innovative design and a mastery of technique and craftsmanship.

So if you know any superb jewelry makers, weavers, leathersmiths, potters, furniture makers, glass blowers or anyone else who fits the bill, just put them in touch with Morris Museum before the November 21, 2014 entry deadline. Then plan to attend the event next year to see the Garden State’s best of the best!
