Imagine putting pedal to the metal in some of the fiercest cars on the planet. Several New Jersey racetracks offer high-speed driving experiences on limited schedules—and at hefty prices.

Here’s where to satisfy your need for speed. (For more local adventures, check out our guide to the Garden State’s most exhilarating thrills.)

Xtreme Experience

♦ New Jersey Motorsports Park, Millville; May 11-15
♦ Raceway Park, Englishtown; July 7-10

Expect to be exhausted after navigating the dramatic corners of either of these curvy tracks in a Ferrari, Lamborghini, Corvette, Porsche or other supercar. The experience starts with a classroom session. A professional driver rides shotgun with you on your drive, making sure you don’t brake too early—or too late—in the turns. Alternatively, you can take a ride-along with a pro driver in a 707-horsepower Dodge Charger Hellcat. Giddyap!

Green Flag Driving Experience

♦ Wall Stadium Speedway, Wall Township; Select Saturdays, May-October

This driving experience scales it down to a TQ Midget Racecar. These little one-seat speedsters pack plenty of power. After receiving your training and safety gear, you’ll take 15 high-speed laps around the banked oval. Intrepid drivers can reach speeds up to 90 mph.

Formula 2000 Racecar Driving Experience

♦ New Jersey Motorsports Park, Millville; May 27

Here’s your chance to get behind the wheel of a low-slung, open-wheeled Formula 2000 racecar. The experience starts with classroom instruction and a practice drive. Finally, you’ll strap into the cockpit for two 20-minute solo sessions totaling more than 30 laps. The experience lasts more than four hours.

Virgin Driving Experience

♦ New Jersey Motorsports Park, Millville; August 26-28

For this day at the races, you take the wheel of a Ferrari, Lamborghini or Porsche for a three- or six-lap spin around Lightning Raceway, a 1.9-mile track with plenty of turns and elevation changes. A training session precedes your experience, and a pro driver comes along on your ride. For the maximum experience, you can drive all three cars for a mere $1,404.
