About Alan Hecht

“Our practice has a long-standing legacy of consistently providing exceptional patient care,” says Dr. Alan Hecht, an eight-time New Jersey Monthly Top Dentist. He, along with Drs. Robert Albin, Joel Efron, Douglas Jacobus, and the newest colleague, Jason Gordon, has a practice that spans 53 years and represents four generations of doctors. “We’re a part of the fabric of our community,” he says.

Dr. Hecht credits the practice’s longevity to the quality of the relationships he and his colleagues have nurtured with patients, referring doctors, and the communities where their three offices are located in Somerset and Hunterdon counties.

“It’s because we’re a local practice—not a large health-care organization—that we’re able to get to know our patients and spend time with them. We treat the whole person, not just their teeth. We’re here for them when they need us. For us, this isn’t just a job, it’s a lifestyle dedicated to our patients and practice.”

The practice offers a full scope of services with an emphasis on wisdom tooth extractions and dental implants. His technologically advanced office includes a 3-D intraoral scanner and a cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) scanner for the treatment planning and precise placement of dental implants.

Dr. Hecht is board certified and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. He is a past chief of oral surgery at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset and a past president and the current chairman of the Anesthesia Committee of the New Jersey Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
