To achieve the best possible outcomes, Dr. Barbara Fodero has followed the same philosophy throughout her orthodontics career: offer treatment based on the best available research and her 23 years of clinical experience while also factoring in a patient’s special needs or circumstances. “My goal is always to create a healthy, functional, and confident smile and to treat patients the way that I would like to be treated,” she says.

A board certified orthodontist, Dr Fodero treats children and adults in all facets of orthodontic treatment, from simple correction of mild misalignment of teeth to complex cases needing jaw surgery. She also offers conventional metal and clear braces, plus clear aligners such as Invisalign®.

By using current technology, such as digital imaging and 3-D printing to make custom braces and appliances, Dr. Fodero has streamlined processes and reduced time in treatment. “The most rewarding aspect of my work is seeing the transformation in a patient’s smile and the impact it has on their self-confidence,” she says.

Dr. Fodero graduated first in her class from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, where she also obtained her specialty degree in orthodontics. “I am proud to have trained at one of the most competitive dental and orthodontic programs in the country, where the value of providing treatment that is backed by scientific research was instilled in me,” she says. Dr. Fodero works with Smiles Change Lives, a non-profit organization, where she provides free orthodontic treatment to children from low-income families.
