About Brett Handsman

Dr. Brett Handsman continues a long-standing tradition of top-quality care at Springfield Orthodontics. The outstanding reputation of the practice remains centered around excellence in an energetic, fun atmosphere that provides a warm and friendly experience for patients and their families.

Dr. Handsman works with Dr. Dana Silagi and an experienced, caring team to provide exceptional care for children, teens, and adults. “We, quite literally, change people’s lives,” says Dr. Handsman. “When you help a patient who is self-conscious about their teeth and can transform their smile, you see their whole face brighten up. That’s very rewarding.”

Springfield Orthodontics is an Invisalign® Platinum Plus Provider, having treated more than 1,900 cases, placing it among the top three percent of Invisalign providers in the nation. The practice is also a certified provider of Invisalign Teen. Celebrating their second anniversary in a state-of-the-art office, the doctors embrace the most modern technology, utilizing all-digital imaging and the newest generation iTero® scanner, which eliminates messy impression molds. The practice maintains enhanced safety measures for COVID-19 as recommended by the CDC and the American Dental Association.

Dr. Handsman, a former president of the Union County Dental Society, earned his dental degree from the University of Connecticut and orthodontic specialty certificate from Stony Brook University. He is the orthodontic director at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center.

“I’m grateful that being recognized as a New Jersey Monthly Top Dentist means I have earned the respect from our referring doctors and that they trust me with the care of their patients,” he says.
