About Thomas A. Chiodo
“My vision is to provide excellent care at a small patient-centered practice,” says Dr. Thomas Chiodo, a board-certified oral maxillofacial surgeon. Catering to each patient’s needs, he offers a range of expert surgery, including implants, reconstruction, extractions, TMJ treatments, oral pathology and facial cosmetic procedures like Botox® and Juvéderm®. During implant procedures, Dr. Chiodo can extract the tooth and simultaneously provide a temporary crown so the patient’s appearance is unchanged. He also uses the newest materials and technology to regenerate bone in the least invasive methods possible.
Dr. Chiodo is well known for his ability to gain the trust of anxious children and adults. That valuable skill comes from his experience working with children who have disabilities and a fear of dental care. He believes in focusing on each patient and never rushing a consultation or procedure. His friendly and attentive staff always provides assistance in a relaxed, comfortable environment. “People may not remember the details of a procedure, but they will recall if you made their experience as comfortable as possible,” he says.
Dr. Chiodo graduated from Creighton University School of Dentistry with specialty training at UMDNJ. As a faculty member at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, he stresses that surgical expertise must be accompanied by interpersonal skills. He is on staff at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset. “It’s very rewarding when anxious patients
later tell us what an enjoyable experience they had and how easy their recovery was,” Dr. Chiodo says.
