About Charles Daknis
Seaview Orthopaedic & Medical Associates has provided the highest quality of care for patients in Monmouth, Ocean and Middlesex counties for more than 35 years. With offices conveniently located in Brick, Freehold, Ocean, Monroe, Barnegat, and Holmdel, this premier multispecialty practice brings to Central New Jersey the same expert care found at urban medical centers in New York City and Philadelphia. “Our physicians are exceptional in their respective fields. They take pride in staying current with cutting-edge treatments and keeping in touch with the needs of our community,” says Dr. Arthur Vasen, senior partner and managing director.
The practice provides a full spectrum of care—both surgical and nonsurgical, including minimally invasive options—in every orthopedic discipline for patients of any age. Drs. Beights, Green and Fahoury specialize in foot and ankle surgery; Drs. Collins and Haynes in pediatric ortho- pedics; Drs. Chern, Borgatti, Nelson, Spagnuola and Thacker in sports medicine; Drs. McDaid and Vasen in hand and upper extremity surgery; Drs. Daknis, Greaves and Meyers in pain management; Drs. Nguyen and Yalamanchili in spine surgery; Drs. DePaola, Fechisin, Mark and Parcells in joint replacement. Graduates of some of the finest institutions in the country, including Harvard and Columbia medical schools, many of these physicians are fellowship trained in their areas of expertise. The doctors also provide treatment for trauma and fractures, and perform independent medical evaluations. Physical therapy is available on-site at each location.
In addition to offering comprehensive services, it is a genuinely compassionate approach to care that sets this group apart. “We go the extra mile to make sure all of our patients’ needs are met,” says Dr. Vasen, who believes that one’s total experience with the practice is of utmost importance. This philosophy extends far beyond treating a specific condition. “We are the gestalt of orthopedic care, looking at each patient as a whole—mind, body and spirit,” he says. “We develop individualized treatment plans and spend time helping patients understand their condition and the recommended path to healing.” Dr. Vasen encourages patients who are at any of the practice’s affiliated hospitals to request a Seaview doctor for an on-site visit. “We will work within the hospital system to evaluate and manage that patient’s care,” he says.
The group participates in a number of charitable initiatives with the Arthritis Foundation, the American Cancer Society, Fulfill – the FoodBank of Monmouth & Ocean Counties, the March of Dimes, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, and Habitat for Humanity.
