About Debra Goldson-Prophete
With a relentless commitment to the overall wellness of her patients, Dr. Debra Goldson-Prophete works to build a healthier community every day. “I look at every single chart of every patient that comes into my offices in South Orange and Union to make sure that the standard of care they expect from me is what they are getting,” she says.
Board certified in internal medicine, Dr. Goldson-Prophete focuses on cardiovascular health, diabetes management, and weight-loss management, using the latest technology to enhance her patient’s sense of well-being. That includes laser hair removal and body sculpting with VANQUISH ME™, a non-invasive treatment for weight-loss patients.
The newest piece of technology employed by Dr. Goldson-Prophete is the EMSELLA® chair. “We’re very excited about it,” she says. “It’s FDA-cleared to treat urinary incontinence in men and women by stimulating pelvic floor muscles. This painless treatment takes place during six weekly 30-minute sessions, and we’ve seen dramatic improvements in patients.”
Interactions with patients and the relationships she has formed with them remain the favorite part of the job for Dr. Goldson-Prophete, an assistant clinical professor at Rutgers NJ Medical School since 2002. “I have patients who have known me for close to 30 years, and now I’m starting to treat a second generation of patients,” she says. “I’ve always taken it as the biggest compliment when people refer their family members to me.”
