About John A. Conti
Fellowship trained and board-certified in internal medicine, oncology and hospice and palliative care, Dr. John A. Conti has practiced in New Jersey for nearly 25 years. His contributions to leading-edge research with Dr. Nancy Kemeny while at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center helped establish today’s standard of care for colon cancer. At Essex Oncology of New Jersey, Dr. Conti and his partners continue to advance medical science by participating in promising clinical trials. They strive to give patients state-of-the-art care with the best chance of success, in a warm and friendly environment that embraces both patients and their families.
Dr. Conti and his team collaborate to treat their patients’ diseases and to manage their cancer- and treatment-related symptoms. “While our first goal with every treatment is to explore all avenues of possible cure, we also emphasize palliative care here,” he says. Research shows that patients who receive simultaneous palliative care and chemotherapy live longer than those who get chemotherapy alone.
Dr. Conti serves as medical director at Atlantic Hospice as well as medical director of the cancer program at Hackensack Meridian Health Mountainside Medical Center. He is proud to share his practice with six other doctors plus nurse practitioners Susan Harrison and Kyung Chu.
