About Mitchel Alpert

Dr. Mitchel Alpert and Dr. Elsa Castro provide cutting-edge pediatric cardiac care in a warm, welcoming environment for patients ranging in age from fetus to late adolescence. Their practice is one of the few in New Jersey to receive the prestigious certification in pediatric echocardiography from the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission, a national accrediting body.

The doctors, who work with Drs. Vincent R. Zales, Maria Angela Umali-Pamintuan and Stephanie E. Chin, try to accommodate anyone who needs help, regardless of their insurance plan. “Treating our patients and watching them get better is the biggest success I can imagine,” says Dr. Alpert. He serves as director of pediatric cardiology at Hackensack Meridian Health Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, where he has won multiple teaching awards from pediatric residents at the medical center’s K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Castro has actively pursued her special interest in pediatric echocardiography and fetal echocardiography by taking additional training at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
“Dr. Alpert has always led us by his example and dedication, and it is my privilege to work side-by-side with all the physicians in our practice in caring for all of these amazing kids,” says
Dr. Castro.
