About Myron Bednar
Providing high-level cancer care in a community setting is the top priority for Dr. Myron Bednar and Dr. Kenneth Blankstein, both board-certified and fellowship-trained oncologists and hematologists. “We care for patients close to their homes, where we can see them regularly and help them navigate the treatment process,” says Dr. Bednar.
The doctors actively participate in a broad range of national cancer research trials and offer varied options on-site, from radiation to infusion and oral chemotherapy, as well as immunotherapy, which stimulates one’s immune system to attack cancer cells. Their genetics team offers genomic analyses to determine individual risks and effective treatments. “Therapies targeted to a tumor’s specific genetic mutations are improving our patients’ tolerability to treatment and their chances for success,” Dr. Blankstein says. “They’re game-changers in the field of oncology.”
Dr. Bednar and Dr. Blankstein practice alongside Drs. Swee Jian Ngeow, Waqas Rehman, and Megha Shah. They also work with a social worker, oncology-certified nurses, laboratory staff, research coordinators, and a specialty pharmacy. The office’s affiliation with Hunterdon Healthcare System provides patients with a dietician plus oncology rehabilitation and family risk assessment. Nurse navigators coordinate medical appointments, testing, and paperwork for patients. All services are offered on-site as a convenience for cancer patients and their families.
