About Myron E. Bednar
Providing the highest-quality cancer care in a compassionate manner is a top priority of Dr. Myron Bednar. Board certified in medical oncology, hematology and internal medicine, he actively participates in cancer research trials and is committed to bringing patients new and innovative investigational treatments. Dr. Bednar is currently excited to participate in MATCH, a national clinical study in which cancer-fighting drugs are assigned based on the specific mutations present in a patient’s tumors.
He offers a variety of options on-site, from radiation to infusion-based and oral chemotherapy, as well as immune-based therapy, which stimulates a patient’s immune system to attack cancer cells. “It has really changed the way we practice oncology,” he says. “Cutting-edge treatments like this are really improving outcomes and quality of life for patients.”
Dr. Bednar, who practices alongside Drs. Kenneth Blankstein, Swee Jian Ngeow, Waqas Rehman and Megha Shah, works with an exceptional office staff, nursing team, oncology dietician and social worker to address patients’ needs and help them transition throughout their course of care. An on-site infusion center and oncology rehabilitation program aid patients in managing the symptoms of their disease and their treatment. The practice also includes three nurse navigators, who help with the coordination of doctor’s appointments, testing and paperwork, taking some of the stress off of patients. “We want to do everything we can to make this a simple process,” says Dr. Bednar.
