About Ramzan Muhammad Zakir
As an interventional cardiologist, Dr. Ramzan Zakir focuses on complex cases, from chronic total occlusion and carotid artery stenting, to endovascular interventions for patients with symptomatic peripheral arterial disease (PAD), and venous ablations for venous insufficiency. A clinical assistant professor of medicine at Rutgers RWJ Medical School, Dr. Zakir is involved in research and in training fellows. He previously served as the school’s director of transradial catheterization. He is currently director of the peripheral vascular program at Saint Peter’s University Hospital and is also the principal investigator of several clinical trials to enhance the management of patients with PAD.
Board certified in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology, he has additional certification in echocardiography, nuclear cardiology and endovascular medicine. Dr. Zakir is a frequent lecturer and has appeared on several national television segments discussing new treatments and technologies.
