About Roderick J. Clemente
“It’s exhilarating to follow the constant advancements in my field,” says Dr. Roderick Clemente, who has delivered unparalleled neurosurgical expertise with cutting-edge technologies since 1985. “Absolutely everything has changed since I started practice.” Today’s anesthesia agents, miniaturized instruments and computerized guidance allow for less invasive procedures and shorter hospital stays.
One of New Jersey’s most esteemed neurological surgeons, Dr. Clemente provides expert state-of-the-art treatment with particular interest in cervical and lumbar spine artificial disc replacements, spinal reconstruction for metastatic tumors, cerebral aneurysms, cerebrospinal diversion, stereotactic cranial surgery and endoscopic surgery for pituitary tumors. He is skilled in CyberKnife® robotic radiosurgery for reaching otherwise inoperable tumors of the nervous system.
Board certified in neurological surgery, Dr. Clemente excels in the skills his profession requires: delicate manual dexterity, a three-dimensional sense, the tenacity to persevere through lengthy and complicated cases — plus empathy with patients who are often stunned by their diagnoses. He finds that helping patients understand their disease also helps them manage treatment with a healthy mental outlook. Dr. Clemente works alongside Dr. Seth Dannis and a compassionate, responsive staff.
He continues to instruct residents at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, finding them inspiring and revitalizing. “After all these years, I am still growing intellectually,” says Dr. Clemente.
