Morris Museum’s Jazz on the Back Deck

Live Music returns to the Morris Museum! Combining Jazz, sunsets, and social distance, this new outdoor concert series begins on Thursday, July 16 with a benefit concert by Amani.

Bring your own chairs and refreshments and enjoy live music atop the Morris Museum’s elevated parking deck. Blocks available for purchase range in size from 8’x8′ (maximum 2 patrons) to 8’x16′ (maximum 4 patrons) affording the opportunity for exciting Jazz, stunning sunsets, and social distance.

All patrons must wear a face mask. Face masks may be lowered when seated in your block while enjoying refreshments but must be worn at all other times.

Ticket prices range from $50 for an 8’x8′ block (maximum capacity 2 patrons) to $100 for an 8’x16′ block (maximum capacity 4 patrons)

Join Amani as they explore favorites from the Great American Songbook, and even a few Bossa Nova classics!
Vocalist, Stephen Fuller will be joined by Marty Eigen, Flip Peters, Tomoko Ohno, Alex Grissel, and Vernon Mobley. This concert has been generously funded by an anonymous donor. All sales benefit the Morris Museum, and future concert programs.

Mariel Bildsten has quickly become a Morris Museum favorite since her debut in the 2018 Bickford Benefit Concert. She will be joined on stage with her signature mix of excellent musicians that bring young energy to hits from Ellington to Basie.

Dan Levinson’s Sixth Annual Midsummer Night’s Jazz Party!

The legendary Dan Levinson returns to the Morris Museum for his annual Midsummer Night’s Jazz Party. Levinson will be joined by Mike Davis who delights Bickford Theatre audiences every March with his annual Bix Beiderbecke Birthday Bash, as well as Jim Fryer, Rob Adkins, and Kevin Dorn.

Exploring new territories in jazz and funk, the band’s repertoire consists of classic songs by Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Earth Wind & Fire, BeyoncĂ©, and others, as well as rich, grooving original compositions. The group has “big fun” exploring this music with wit, energetic interaction, and soulfulness.
