The Barron Arts Center presents The Woodbridge Township 40th Annual Senior Citizen Art Show, a project to enhance the life of Seniors 60 and over. The exhibit runs April 23-30, 2019 with a closing reception and award ceremony Tuesday, April 30, 2019 ~ 6-8 pm, hosted by Mayor John E. McCormac.
The exhibition is sponsored by the Woodbridge Township Department of Health & Human Resources and the Evergreen Senior Center in Colonia, the Sycamore Senior Center in Port Reading, the 5 Branches Senior Center in Iselin, the Woodbridge Township Cultural Arts Commission chaired by Dr. Dolores Capraro Gioffre with support from the Woodbridge Township Arts Council and Mayor John E. McCormac.
The competition was open to any resident of Woodbridge Township 60 years of age or older. Participants were encouraged to submit up to three pieces each for the show. Acceptable art work had to be from one of the following categories: oil; acrylic; watercolor; pastel; printmaking; drawings including pencil, pen & ink, chalk and charcoal; mixed media including collage; photography and sculpture.
There are two classifications exhibited in the show, both non-professional and professional. Separate awards will be made in each classification.
All work is the original creation of the artist.
A reception for the artists and the public will be held at the Barron Arts Center, 582 Rahway Avenue, Woodbridge, a disabled accessible building, on the closing day Tuesday, April 30 from 6-8pm.
