STYLE

This walk-up oceanfront hut is perfect for beachgoers. Outdoor tables flank the building, and a handful of prime stools directly face the crashing surf.

THE SCOOP

Jamie Queli and Seth Dolled, the former owners of Forgotten Boardwalk Brewery, landed on an actual boardwalk this time, launching their unique beach grill this season without much advance warning.

THE MENU

The small menu is particularly mighty. The Bandit Italian hot dog comes piled high with peppers, onions and french fries, all served in the half-moon of Calandra’s pizza bread—also the vessel for their chicken Caesar salad sandwich. Burgers are tasty, too, and the seasonal Jersey tomato sandwich, with local honey, ricotta and basil on rye, is tough to resist for any native Jerseyan. There’s a fantastic line of made-to-order craft sodas featuring house-made syrups, canned right before your eyes in what is easily the most fun beverage presentation you’ll see this summer.

HEADS UP

Don’t sleep on the specials menu. A pork roll, egg and cheese sandwich with funnel-cake buns and a side of raspberry ketchup appeared there recently and blew everyone’s minds.
