Despite the state’s easing of certain Covid-19 restrictions—like the announcement that restaurants can reopen for outdoor dining June 15—there’s no doubt that dining down the Shore this summer is a different scene. To help you navigate ordering out along the coast, we’ve compiled a guide to beach restaurants offering takeout and delivery. (At deadline, no specific updates were available regarding outside seating; however, this list will be updated throughout the summer.)

Restaurants listed below offer takeout service, plus delivery where indicated. Menus change often; check websites for updates and information on delivery. Alcoholic beverages are sold in sealed containers for takeout only. A Sweet Memory Cake Shoppe and Tea Room in Ocean Township is open for pick-up. The Tea Room itself is closed for the foreseeable future, but they’re cranking out sweet treats just the same. The best way to keep up with their offerings is via social media. 609-242-0153.

The Chicken or the Egg in Beach Haven. Beloved by carousers for its round-the-clock breakfast menu, the Chegg is currently open daily, but only from 8 am-10 pm, Friday and Saturday until 11. The Crabs Claw Inn in Lavallette is doing curbside pick-up and takeout all week long from 11:30 am–7:45 pm (8:45 pm on Friday and Saturday). The menu is hefty; they have a massive beer list and more modest wine list, and are now doing cocktails to go. Order online.

Cuisine on the Green in Little Egg Harbor Township is doing online orders (and has a separate happy hour menu).

David’s Culinary Delights in Brick. David Silverman prepares $50 family dinners that feed four (“some say five or six”). Choose an entrée (chicken marsala, meatballs, etc.) and two sides. Mueller’s Bakery in Bay Head. One of NJM’s 2020 Best Bakeries. Famous for its thick-streusel crumb cake, which it has been making since it opened in 1890, Mueller’s is no slouch in other areas.
