Daniel Radcliffe—Harry Potter himself—was in full effect at the Jersey Shore this week.
Not for vacation, but to work on his latest film, the Vietnam War-era thriller Trust the Man.
Radcliffe, 37, stars with Tony winner Jonathan Groff, 41, in the movie, which filmed in Seaside Park.
Production took place at the Charlroy Motel on Ocean Avenue near the boardwalk late Thursday night into early Friday morning.
New Jersey stood in for Hawaii in the scenes with Radcliffe, who wore a period-appropriate, short-sleeved plaid shirt and slacks. The production also filmed on the beach.
Trust the Man, written and directed by Will Graham (the series A League of Their Own, Mozart in the Jungle and Daisy Jones & The Six), centers on an Army intelligence officer who investigates an accomplished soldier’s record.
Actors dressed as soldiers filmed at the orange-doored retro motel with Radcliffe during the late-night shoot, which was furnished with vintage cars.
Radcliffe and Groff previously starred together on Broadway in a 2023 revival of the Stephen Sondheim musical Merrily We Roll Along. Before the scenes this week in Ocean County, Trust the Man also filmed in Montclair.
