Cravings Tapas Bistro in Ridgewood
STYLE
Intimate bistro serving Spanish and international small plates, wine and sangrias.
THE SCOOP
Since 2013, Cravings has been topping Best of Bergen lists as a spot that encourages lingering over dinner rather than rushing through a meal. The intimate dining room buzzes with energy, drawing couples on date nights and lively groups of friends—even on weeknights.
THE MENU
Kick things off with the Philly cheesesteak empanadas, wrapped in a golden-brown crust and stuffed with tender shaved ribeye and sharp Vermont cheddar. The patatas bravas are another must-order, pairing crispy, golden potatoes with spicy sausage and a cool spread of sour cream for the perfect balance of heat and richness. Nearly everything is designed for sharing, like the paella Valencia that arrives brimming with clams, mussels, shrimp, chorizo and fragrant saffron broth. The seared skirt steak—with velvety creamed spinach and crispy Parmesan truffle fries—makes for a substantial dish for one. Finish on a sweet note with the rich, dense flourless chocolate cake, topped with fresh whipped cream and strawberries.
PRO TIP
Metered parking on the street and in the Ridgewood Station lot are available. The restaurant is BYO, and a liquor store is a few doors away.
