We’ve been asking for our readers’ favorite New Jersey spots all year for our Jersey Choice Best of Polls. To coincide with our annual Shore Issue, our June poll was all about fun in the sun. It’s obvious that while the Jersey Shore is rife with glimmering gems, Ocean City shines the brightest among our readers.
Ocean City took top honors in several categories, including Best Beach (South), Best Boardwalk (South), Best Amusement Park (Gillians Wonderland Pier), Best Mini-Golf (Pirate Island Adventure Golf) and Best Surf Shop (Heritage Surf and Sport).
Congrats are also due to Spring Lake, Asbury Park and Cape May, each of which notched wins in two categories. Spring Lake nabbed Best Beach (Central) and Best Hotel-Central (The Breakers Hotel); Asbury Park took Best Boardwalk (Central) and Best Surf Shop-Central (Lightly Salted); while Cape May took home Best B&B (Angel of the Sea) and Best Hotel-South (Congress Hall).
Since this poll was all about the shore, it’s not surprising only two categories had winners for North Jersey (North fared better in our April poll, when we sought out the best Lakes and Fishing Holes). The Land of Make Believe in Hope took top Northern honors for Amusement Park, and the Grand Summit Hotel in Summit won for Best Hotel-North.
This month, we’ve got food on the brain—check out the results of our Annual Restaurant Poll and don’t forget to holler for your favorite specialty food shops and sweet treats.
