This morning, senior editor Eric Levin poked his head in my office and proudly proclaimed that he had managed to match his socks with his shirt, without even thinking about it...

The creativity and fashion savvy emanating from my colleague's office is simply mind-blowing.

I'm sending Eric to Neiman Marcus in Short Hills for these nifty Robert Kardashian socks. Love that animal print!

This plum-perfect Burberry ensemble could be a whole new look for our senior editor. The tonal academy bomber jacket was just introduced for Spring 2013.

I figure this deserves a special blogpost. And it makes me wonder what's next for fashion maven Eric.

Now that he's demonstrated profound talent in the art of color-matching purple with purple, perhaps he will branch out to accessorize with a bright palette of plaid, paisley and animal-print footwear. Could this be a whole new career path for Eric? Is there a runway in our senior editor's future?

Wild Socks

I warned our always in-style style editor that a feat like this——matching purple with, gasp, purple——was as unlikely an occurrence as that asteroid breaking up over Siberia. But it does seem to have generated a shock wave of its own, for me no less than for Susan.

As I told her, it dawned on me recently that socks in crazy colors and stripes are much easier to sort than the dull, run of the mill black and navy ones. So when I happened to spot a rack of racy shades in the sock aisle at Century 21 (across the Green from our office), I invested heavily. And for a guy, wild socks are a way to be flamboyant without anyone knowing.

That may be TMI. I will sign off now.

Bombs Away

Agree, the fuchsia bomber jacket is me, totally. The shades, too. Aren’t you proud I know that’s fuchsia?
