Fright Fest at Six Flags
Through November 1
The highly anticipated seasonal extravaganza of thrills and chills features family-friendly events like the Looney Toons Trick-or-Treat Trail by day. At night, the creepy activities begin with hundreds of ghouls taking over the park after 5:30 pm. Face off with demonic monsters on the Rage of the Gargoyles virtual reality coaster, the first (and scariest) of its kind. 1 Six Flags Boulevard, Jackson.

Scary Rotten Farms
Through October 30
Choose between two haunted sites, each with its own terrifying story. Sinister Sneed’s Carnival of Chaos takes patrons through a festival cursed by the devil; the Forbidden plunges visitors into a Pine Barrens campground overtaken by a terribly twisted family. Bane Haunted House
September 23-October 31
At this particularly scary attraction, visitors interact with the terror-inducing denizens of a horribly Haunted House. To make your way through, you’ll have to climb over and spin around some of the haunt’s chilling obstacles. 630 W Mount Pleasant Avenue, Livingston.

Oasis: Island of Terror
Weekends September 23-October 30
During the day, visitors to Oasis Family Farm participate in family-friendly activities like pumpkin picking, crafts and a monster maze. At night, the farm hosts  a haunted landscape of frightful creatures. 3 Circle Drive, Robbinsville.

Night of Terror
September 25-October 31
There are seven horror-filled attractions at Creamy Acre Farms to choose from, including a cornfield maze, a frozen-wasteland tunnel, and the nation’s first haunted paintball zombie hunt, where you hunt the feared creatures from a hayride trek…before they hunt you. 448 Lincoln Mill Road, Mullica Hill.

Dog Walk of the Dead
October 22
The only zombie dog walk you’ll find in the Garden State, this event includes a canine costume contest and zombie dog parade, as well as frightful vendors, a blood drive, live music and more. Proceeds benefit O.S.C.A.R. (One Step Closer Animal Rescue). Sussex County Fairgrounds, 37 Plains Road, Augusta.

Bamboo Gardens Walk of Fear
Weekends through October 30
Navigate the pitch-black density of the bamboo forest at this Burlington County attraction, doing your best to cross Blood Beach, escape bloodthirsty zombies and evade maniacal evildoers. 134 Landing Street, Southampton.

The Haunted Seaport
October 20–23
Tuckerton Seaport gets into the seasonal spirit with this weekend of Halloween fun. Climb aboard a spooky pirate ship, try a hayride through the haunted woods and dance with the Jersey Devil at this all-ages attraction. The little ones can enjoy a pumpkin-patch craft area and magic shows galore. 120 W Main Street, Tuckerton.
