Fun, fast and cheap! New Jersey diners are all that and more. New Jersey loves its diners—but which diner is our statewide favorite? That’s what we hope to find out in the 2018 Diner Derby.
New Jersey Monthly has nominated 25 diners from throughout New Jersey as contenders in the Diner Derby. Check back often to see how your favorite diner is doing in the voting. You can vote for up to five diners with each visit to the website.

Honorable mention should go to my neighborhood diner. The Veronica in Somerset, NJ. I’m surprised there isn’t a line around the block to get into this place. The food is outstanding and Maggie is one of the best servers there is!

You guys missed the really BEST diner in NJ: The Pompton Queen on Route 23 in Pompton Plains…always a line to get in..staff is efficient and accommodating….food is always fresh and delicious…the Greek dressing is scrumptious, the southern fried chicken worth every calorie, grilled vegetable platter with balsamic dressing beyond satisfying not to mention healthy, the stuffed tomato yummy…it’s not just diner food; it’s dinner quality, too!
You left out the Parkwood Diner in Maplewood!! The best!
As usual with these surveys , omissions are noticed. Galaxy Diner, Rahway; Westfield Diner, Westfield; Union Plaza Diner, Union; Manny’s Diner, Clark; OB Diner, Pt Pleasant – all deserve to be on the list of best diners in NJ.
