About Michael J. Pensak
Comprehensive focus on outcomes through evidenced-based approaches to restore form and function—these are the pillars of Dr. Michael J. Pensak’s hand and upper-extremity practice.
In practice for eight years, Dr. Pensak is a regional expert in the WALANT (wide-awake, local anesthesia, no tourniquet) surgical technique, which is done with the patient awake, requiring no medical clearance or fasting.
Dr. Pensak has a subspecialty certificate in orthopedic surgery of the hand, which is only eligible to board-certified orthopedic surgeons who have demonstrated qualifications in hand surgery beyond those expected of other orthopedic surgeons by virtue of additional training and breadth of practice.
“It’s very rewarding to see satisfied patients who then refer their family and friends because they trust my ability to provide the highest quality of care and exceptional doctor-patient relationships,” says Dr. Pensak.
Dr. Pensak earned his medical degree from SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University, completed his residency at UConn Health, and his fellowship at the University of Colorado Denver.
