About Joseph DiFazio
Dr. Joseph DiFazio loves a challenge. It is part of the reason he chose to pursue one of the most complex specialties in the field of dentistry, and also why patients and referring dentists rely so heavily on his expertise in general and maxillofacial prosthodontics.
A proud diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics, one of only 26 in New Jersey, and a fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists and The American Academy of Maxillofacial Prosthetics, Dr. DiFazio is also among an elite group worldwide to achieve the highest level of skill in maxillofacial prosthodontics. Throughout his storied 42-year career, he has helped thousands of people overcome challenging oral and dental problems caused by disease, trauma, and congenital or medical conditions.
“I chose to become a dentist because I wanted to make a difference in people’s lives,” says Dr. DiFazio. “I enjoy dealing with the complexities of reconstructive and aesthetic dentistry, and it’s very rewarding to help people achieve their goals.”
After graduating with honors from UMDNJ, now Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, where he is currently and has been for the past 40 years a clinical assistant professor, Dr. DiFazio began his career in dentistry as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy Dental Corps. His passion to transform lives led him to pursue extensive specialized training in general and maxillofacial prosthodontics at the world-renowned Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Dr. DiFazio has been repeatedly named among America’s Top Dentists by Consumers’ Research Council of America. Dr. DiFazio serves on the Board of Directors of the American College of Prosthodontists and The American Academy of Maxillofacial Prosthetics. He also received the American College of Prosthodontists 2020 Private Practice Award.
