Love things that go bump in the night? These haunted attractions are certain to make this Halloween spooky and scary.

Scared in Jersey
October Thursdays-Saturdays
Discover the legend of the Jersey Devil by finding your way through the Pine Barren Maze, visiting Mother Leeds’ Haunted Cottage and meeting the ghosts of the monster’s victims. The Blood Drums will perform each night, and spooky food and merchandise will be available for purchase.

Haunted Scarehouse
October Weekends
Two floors of frights and fear with special effects, movie props and actors provide heart-stopping entertainment. Visitors can win back the price of admission by finding a hidden key before exiting the Scarehouse.

Fright Fest at Six Flags

New attractions for Fright Fest 2017 include the Lady of the Lake Cemetery scare zone, a maze haunted by demons, and “Unleashed,” a steampunk circus show. Coasters—including Nitro and El Toro—will be retrofitted for even scarier thrills.

Night of Terror

Creamy Acre Farms offers seven severely scary attractions for guests to scream for, including their signature paintball zombie hunt, the abandoned Slaughter Cave and a haunted hayride. Paintball players are provided with the ersatz guns and ammo needed to fend off a horde of flesh-eating dead.

Bamboo Gardens Walk of Fear
October Weekends
Brave souls choose between two frightening walks: Zombie Infestation­—a sick and twisted maze through Blood Beach, a toxic dump and the Blacklight Forest—or Twisted Dreams, in a demon-infested and pitch-black house.

Fright Factor
October Weekends
A benefit for Halos for Angels—a nonprofit that supports local families in need—featuring the Ultimate Pathway to Terror on Friday and Saturday nights, and a family Halloween festival on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

Scary Rotten Farms
Through October 30
Berry Fresh Farms in Brick turns scary rotten with two terrifying attractions. Sinister Sneed’s Carnival of Chaos holds a festival that’s been cursed after a deal-with-the-devil gone wrong; the Forbidden thrusts visitors into a Pine Barrens campground tormented by a family of mutants.

Bane Haunted House
Sept 22-Oct 31
This fully interactive creep show features 100 live actors and 40 rooms of horror. Visitors climb, push and spin their way through the 40,000-square-foot attraction. 7 pm. $28-$48. 630 W Mount Pleasant Avenue (Route 10), Livingston
