Beginning tomorrow, Jenkinson’s Aquarium, the Aquarium Gift Shop and Jenkinson’s Sweet Shop will cheer up customers for the first time since October. The Pavilion Arcade, Frank’s Fun Center, Jenkinson’s South Arcade and Pavilion Fast Food will open on Saturday, February 2.
Jenkinson’s seaside amusement park has been drawing summertime crowds since the late 1920s. In 1928 Orlo Jenkinson constructed Jenkinson’s Pavillion and Swimming Pool, adding to Point Pleasant’s expanding collection of entertainments. A comeback for a historic landmark such as Jenkinson’s is like the light at the end of the tunnel for Point Pleasant.
“It’s been quite a lot of work but we have a great crew here. We can’t wait to greet our customers when we reopen,” says Toby Wolf, spokeswoman for Jenkinson’s. “We have cheered for every reopening we have seen on the Shore in the last few months and we are proud to finally make our own announcement.”
While many of Jenkinson’s attractions will open this weekend, work will continue in some areas of the property to make sure everything is fully operational for the summer season. Jenkinson’s grand reopening will herald their annual Two for One ride ticket sale, held on Easter Weekend (March 29-31).
