About Dr. Marc Scott Menkowitz

I am a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic spine specialist who focuses on revision surgery in the lumbar and cervical spine. I am willing to take on the cases that were previously performed by other surgeons that most surgeons do not want to follow up with. But I’m comfortable doing that, and those have become the majority of our cases. The biggest challenge is that very rarely is the problem at hand in a textbook. So I use my extensive training and experience to help work through the problems. It becomes a true partnership between myself and each patient. Together, we come up with a plan to restore function and make their life better.

I perform all surgeries with my colleague, Dr. Steven Paragioudakis, which means patients receive care from two board-certified spine surgeons. I’m a left-handed surgeon, and he’s right-handed, so we are on opposite sides of the operating table, letting us have two pairs of hands working like an orchestra during a symphony. We go over every case together, so patients benefit from our combined 40 years of experience. We are surgical partners in the truest sense of the word. We pride ourselves on offering cutting-edge technology, including robotic-assisted spine surgery, in a very comfortable and welcoming environment.

I chose to be an orthopedic spine surgeon because of my father. He was an orthopedic spine surgeon in Philadelphia. I saw the way patients looked at him and the passion and love they had for him. I wanted to emulate that. People come to our practice to get their life back. I love helping people and making them happy.
