About Dr. Paul J. Carniol

My absolute favorite part of being a plastic surgeon is using the latest techniques and technology to take good care of our patients. At our practice, each of them is treated like a family member. They can expect a warm environment where we do everything we can to make their visit as easy an experience as possible. We discuss treatment options in detail, going over specific outcome goals, procedure limitations, and associated risks so our patients can make their treatment decisions. More than one laser or other technology can be used for facial rejuvenation. We often use a fractional laser, and/or microneedle radiofrequency which has a shorter and easier recovery time, tightens the neck and face, and smooths wrinkles.
Some patients prefer our PicoLazer, which provides immediate and visible improvement by smoothing skin, reducing wrinkles, and removing pigmented spots. It has the quickest recovery time, with patients typically returning to their regular activities the next day.
I have been actively involved in educating other physicians for years and am the past president of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. I am also a clinical professor at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and lecture at academic meetings across the United States and internationally.
Most of my free time is spent serving our community as a volunteer. For years, I have served on the local Board of Health and the Emergency Response Team through the Office of Emergency Management. I also serve on the Board of HTTV, a nonprofit cable television network and have taught martial arts at the local YMCA.
