About Larry K. Siu
“Long recognized as one of the most prestigious gastroenterology practices in the region, Affiliates in Gastroenterology (AIG) has consistently had physicians among the top-ranked doctors in New Jersey throughout the group’s 50-year history. This premier practice is home to repeat New Jersey Monthly Top Doctors Dr. Matthew P. Askin, Dr. John D. Morton, Dr. Lawrence S. Rosenthal, Dr. Robert W. Schuman, and Dr. Larry K. Siu, along with first-time honoree Dr. David O. Rahni. These talented board-certified gastroenterologists work collaboratively with their distinguished colleagues Drs. Yunseok Namn, David Pineles, Ellen Rosen, Nicholas Tarangelo, and Carl Wallach as well as physician assistants and nurse
practitioners Elizabeth Dauer, Amanda Golaszewski, Daniil Libman, Nicole Miller, and Pooja Sitapara to bring the most advanced care to thousands of patients each year in the New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania region. The mission of AIG is to provide superior and comprehensive diagnosis and treatment in the kindest, most compassionate manner possible. The doctors and physician extenders use a patient-centered approach to care, aimed at building positive relationships based on trust and mutual respect.
With a focus on preventative medicine, the group offers a full range of endoscopic procedures and screenings for colon cancer as well as treatments for gastrointestinal disorders such as gastroesophageal reflux (GERD), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and inflammatory bowel syndrome (Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis). More advanced procedures include endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) to diagnose and evaluate gastrointestinal cancers and treat pancreatobiliary disorders, radiofrequency ablation (RFA) to treat Barrett’s esophagus and reduce the risk of esophageal cancer, and capsule endoscopy to diagnose disorders of the small intestine. The practice also offers banding to treat hemorrhoids.
Throughout their careers, Drs. Askin, Morton, Rahni, Rosenthal, Schuman, and Siu have had several key roles within the regional medical community. They have held and currently hold prominent hospital leadership positions, including president of the medical staff, chief of gastroenterology, and director of advanced endoscopy. They serve on hospital cancer center committees and are active in training medical students and residents at both Morristown Medical Center and Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center. They also have served as past presidents of the New Jersey Gastroenterology and Endoscopy Society and have been advisors to the American Cancer Society, which honored the practice for its commitment to preventing colon cancer.
