About Nicholas A. Bertha
Integrity, reliability, honesty and empathy have always been the hallmarks of Dr. Nicholas Bertha’s practice. “Those are the things that are important to our patients,” he says. “They’re what set us apart and make our patients happy. When patients call our offices and speak to our staff, they find we are a place where everybody knows their name. Our patients praise us to their regular doctors because they are not treated like a number or a widget.”
At the NJ Bariatric Institute, Dr. Bertha specializes in advanced laparoscopy, bariatrics and endoluminal surgery. Named a New Jersey Monthly Top Doctor annually since 2007, he has safely performed more than 8,000 bariatric procedures over the past 20 years. “I understand the disease of obesity and consistently seek to humanize our treatment process,” he says. “Also, my staff is very honest and straightforward regarding insurance policy rules and coverages before patients receive unwanted bills.”
Dr. Bertha is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. He is director of bariatric surgery at Saint Peter’s University Hospital and serves his community as a member of the Morris Township Board of Health.
