Then Newark’s own Tyshawn Sorey upends the classical concerto in his haunting new For Marcos Balter, intentionally “hiding” soloist Jennifer Koh in the orchestra, blending her lines seamlessly with the ensemble. And the biggest surprise: a chamber piece that becomes a glorious Brahms-like symphony.
