Style: Bright, industrial-chic deli with limited seating at high tables with stools.
Don’t Miss: The menu changes daily; start wih the soup of the day. It is always super fresh and, no matter the choice, never ho-hum. Fresh herbs, spices and locally sourced vegetables enliven every spoonful. Black bean ($4.25) was creamy and had a mildly spicy kick. Carrot-ginger-dill had diced carrots with just enough ginger and dill to make a statement. Empanadas ($3.75) have flaky crusts and are generously filled with choices such as sweet potato and black bean, pulled pork, or chicken and chorizo. Grilled panini of the day ($8.50) are often creative, such as a recent fried flounder with pepper-Jack cheese and tartar sauce. If Lucy’s perfectly balanced tart/sweet lemon squares ($3.50) are available, grab one.
Heads Up: Lucy’s focuses on takeout and catering. You are welcome to pull up a stool, but there’s no table service.
The Scoop: In addition to the daily menu, there is always a range of prepared dishes, pastas, fresh bread and baked goods for pickup.
