It’s the list New Jerseyans wait for: New Jersey Monthly‘s bi-annual ranking of the best places to live in the Garden State! Our much-anticipated list is based on data that reflects factors such as taxes, home values, school performance, crime and commute time.

Additionally, we’ve compiled a list of our 16 favorite downtowns–municipalities with main streets that boast great dining scenes, cultural attractions, shopping and more. Our picks squared off in a bracket-style elimination competition, Downtown Showdown, presented by Kings Food Market.
