After taking time off to regroup, the beloved, formerly vegan noodle spot has reopened. Rated a top restaurant in American in 2023 by the New York Times, the eatery renovated and changed its menu, adding build-your-own bowls with chicken, shrimp and beef, signature bowls and soups.

Domoto is a new concept from Domo Hospitality, which operates restaurants in Jersey City and New York City. It offers “casual Japanese comfort food,” including sushi, katsu and house-made noodles.

Franklin Social and the Junto Attic Bar, Jersey City

Franklin Social and the Junto Attic Bar, which temporarily closed due to fire damage earlier this year, are set to reopen this month in Jersey City. Franklin Social, inspired by Benjamin Franklin, is a modern American Tavern offering a unique dining and bar experience. Above Franklin Social is the Junto Attic Bar, a hidden cocktail lounge modeled after Franklin’s original social club, providing a cozy and intimate atmosphere for expertly crafted cocktails.

Maize Cocina & Cocktails, Westfield

Maize Cocina & Cocktails is set to open its doors at the historic Westfield train station on October 15. Offering a unique Mexican fusion experience, the new restaurant will combine the rich traditions of Mexican cuisine with innovative global influences.

Toastique, Ridgewood

Toastique, the vibrant gourmet-toast and juice café conceptualized in Washington, D.C., has announced its latest opening in Ridgewood, coming in late fall. Located within Garber Square on the west side of Ridgewood’s historic district, Toastique will offer gourmet toast creations, smoothie bowls, cold-pressed juices, espresso, coffee and grab-and-go options.

Mr. G’s diner, Paterson

After new owners reopened Paterson’s historic Mr. G’s diner this summer, a legal battle ensued over its iconic name, forcing it to close. A local favorite, the diner had been open for nearly a century.
