Inside New Jersey’s First Eataly, Open Now at the Short Hills Mall

The Italian marketplace features quick-serve counters, a 230-seat restaurant and a curated retail section.

If you love the fun Italian marketplace Eataly but don’t want to schlepp into New York City for the culinary experience, there’s good news. Eataly has opened its first location in New Jersey.

Eataly Short Hills, a 17,000-square-foot space at Mall at Short Hills, provides a taste of the Italian lifestyle with several quick-serve counters offering items like pizza, pasta, gelato, pastries, coffee and more.

The space also contains a 230-seat restaurant and bar, Eataly Ristorante, which pays homage to the icons of Italian gastronomy. Enjoy traditional antipasti, delicious salads and side dishes, pasta, pizza, main courses, traditional Italian desserts and wine.

A curated retail section offers imported Italian delicacies for purchase, from cheeses and meats to homemade pastas and freshly baked breads. Also available are grocery items—fruits, vegetables and fresh flowers—as well as prepared foods.

To celebrate its opening, Eataly Short Hills is hosting a 10-day schedule of special events, including educational workshops, producer tastings, DJ nights with specialty cocktails and chef-led dinners.

Eataly Short Hills is the brand’s 13th North American location, joining more than 50 stores worldwide.
