Langosta Lounge in Asbury Park Shuttering After 14 Years; Other Dining News

Langosta Lounge, Asbury Park

After operating on the Asbury Park boardwalk for 14 years, Langosta Lounge is closing its doors. Owner Marilyn Schlossbach, who announced the closure, is turning her focus to other properties, including the Whitechapel Projects in Long Branch. Langosta Lounge’s adjoining properties—Salt Water Market, Asbury Park Yacht Club and Pop’s Garage—are being taken over by the owners of Deal Lake Bar + Co.

Eighty Twenty, Westwood

Previously a pop-up and traveling operation, this smash burger joint has found a permanent residence inside Westwood’s B&S Kitchen. What’s on the signature smasher? A beef burger with onions, American cheese and special sauce. Fries, veggie burgers and hot dogs are also on the menu. The restaurant is only open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. Dine-in and takeout service are available.

Pasta Ramen, Montclair

After operating as an exclusive, invite-only pop-up for two years, Pasta Ramen is settling down in Montclair. Its first brick-and-mortar is set to open January 28, and reservations are now being accepted. Chef Robbie Felice—also the owner of two restaurants on NJM’s list of favorite Italian restaurants—is excited to offer dishes such as cacio e pepe gyoza, mochi ramen carbonara craft mocktails and more. Madame, Jersey City

Chef Jamie Knott opened this French bistro in late 2022, featuring dishes such as beef tartare, escargot, lavender creme brûlée and more. Knott recently collaborated with Ani Ramen chef AJ Capella; each designed a dish for the other’s restaurant. Knott made fire beef bao buns for Ani Ramen, and Capella cooked up local fluke for Madame.

Cortaditos, East Rutherford

The American Dream mall’s newest addition is a Cuban coffee shop. Offering coffee drinks, empanadas and other Cuban favorites, Cortaditos brings “a taste of Havana to the Meadowlands.” It’s located on Level 2 of Food Court A.
