Maddy Rose, Jersey City

Landmark Hospitality Group has opened a brand-new restaurant inside Liberty House. Replacing Liberty House Restaurant, Maddy Rose aims to dazzle guests with stylish renovations and upscale dining options. Enjoy a view of the New York City skyline while enjoying items from the Mediterranean-inspired menu crafted by chef Anthony Bucco. The newly renovated space features a dining room, private dining space, patios and cabanas.

Palisades Park Bakery, Palisades Park

The Palisades Park Bakery is set to reopen later this month after previously shuttering during Covid. The bakery was a beloved community mainstay since opening its doors in 1956. While no official date has been set, the bakery says it anticipates reopening mid-August.

Kong Dog, Union City

A popular Korean corn-dog chain has opened its first location in New Jersey. Kong Dog, popular on social media for its unique toppings and flavor combinations, has set up shop in Union City. Diners can choose fillings options from mozzarella cheese to beef, chicken or plant-based sausage. Locations in Jersey City, Edison and Cherry Hill are set to open later this year.

Closings

APEM Creamery, Bloomfield

One of NJM‘s favorite gelato spots is closing its doors. Known for its minimalist and authentically Jersey style, APEM has been serving ice cream and gelato to Bloomfield residents and beyond since 2019. The final day of service will be Sunday, August 13.
