Closing
SmartWorld Coffee, Morristown
After nearly two decades in operation, SmartWorld Coffee has shuttered. Founded in 2006 by husband-and-wife duo David Walters and Stephanie Meehan, it roasted and served sustainable coffee. In late August, a letter taped to its door stated its closure, which was later posted to the Morristown Instagram page. The note also expressed the team’s “excitement and endorsement to who and what’s to come to Morristown ‘coffee culture’ taking our place.” Local real estate agents Jesse Mundt and Sally Campuzano posted on Instagram that they will turn the space into a new coffee shop.
SweetWater Bar and Grill, Cinnaminson
This Greek family-owned restaurant opened back in 2012, after operating as a diner since the 1980s under a different name. SweetWater Bar and Grill was a popular spot in Burlington County, serving everything from soups, salads, sandwiches and flatbreads to prime steaks, pasta dishes and seafood entrées, plus plenty of cocktails. The family posted on Facebook in mid-August that its last day would be on August 24. The post did not share why the restaurant closed, but stated that after 40 years serving the community, the family considers some of its customers to be friends and family.
Maggie Moose Bakery & Gourmet Gift Boutique, Medford
Medford’s moose-inspired bakery is set to close by the end of September. The bakery set up shop in 2021, where it served treats like fudge, popcorn, gelato and donuts, and sold gifts like stuffed animals, gourmet olive oil and specialty pastas. Earlier this week, the team posted on Facebook: “After much consideration and a thorough evaluation of our personal and professional lives, we have made the difficult decision to close.” Follow along on social media for the official closing date.
