Miznon Kosher, Holmdel
Miznon, a renowned Mediterranean street food restaurant, has opened at Bell Works. Located within the 2 million-square-foot mixed-use hub featuring offices, retail, dining and hospitality, this will be Miznon’s second-ever Kosher location and its first in New Jersey.
Miznon Kosher is an OU-certified eatery known for using fresh, seasonally inspired ingredients. Located on The Block at Bell Works, the 2,300-square-foot space can seat up to 65 guests and features a large indoor dining area with an open kitchen for guests to observe food preparation. Menu highlights include falafel burger, melting chickpeas, and a rib eye minute steak.
MOKAFÉ, Jersey City
MOKAFÉ has opened its second location in New Jersey, in Jersey City. The name has its origin in the ancient coffee trading port in Yemen “Mokha” and one of the most famous coffee-based drinks, Mocha. MOKAFÉ is a specialty coffee experience, offering single-origin freshly roasted coffee and sourced from smaller farms. Weehawken and Fort Lee locations are coming soon.

D’Avant Bakery, Ridgefield
This bakery and café recently opened a new location in Ridgefield. D’Avant Bakery offers a selection of fresh cakes, pastries, bread, and cookies, all crafted daily with the finest ingredients. They focus on quality and consistency to ensure an exceptional taste experience. There are already locations in Palisades Park and Edgewater.
Samara Mediterranean Grill, Wall Township
Samara Mediterranean Grill has opened its third location, continuing its mission to bring authentic Mediterranean flavors and Halal dining to new communities. Drawing inspiration from the rich culinary traditions of the Middle East, owner Sameh Elshahawy launched the first Samara Mediterranean Grill in Seaside Heights in 2023. Samara offers a diverse selection of Mediterranean classics, including kabobs, gyros, fresh salads, and a variety of savory sides and appetizers.
Pancheros Mexican Grill, Marlton
Pancheros Mexican Grill, an Iowa-based fresh-Mex brand that’s growing in New Jersey, has opened its 11th location in the state, and second location in Marlton in the Towne Place Center. Additionally, the brand will host a $1 burrito event at the new location from October 8-15. Locals can get in on the deal by downloading the Pancheros app.

Closing
Da Mimmo, Dumont
Da Mimmo, which appeared on Gordon Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares and was panned by the celebrity chef for its soggy pizza and dead mussels floating on the counter, has announced that it is closing. Da Mimmo will shut its doors at the end of the month.
“It is bittersweet to announce that we will be closing our doors on Monday September 30th,” the owners said in a Facebook post. “Launching and growing this family restaurant in such a wonderful community has been an incredible experience, Gordon Ramsay and all! We are so grateful for the support we’ve received and the memories we’ve created here.”
Cafe Moso, Montclair
After five years, Café Moso announced that it would close. Moso, named for “Montclair South,” brought elevated comfort food to the historic South End of Montclair.
“Cafe Moso has always been more than just a restaurant. It’s been a family space for the entire Montclair community, especially in the South End Business District,” owner Zina Floyd told local media. “From the start, Michael, Michaela, and I poured our hearts into creating a warm and welcoming environment where everyone felt at home. As we prepare to close our doors on September 16th, we are filled with gratitude for the incredible support and love you’ve shown us.” The owners plan to relocate within Montclair in 2025.
