After Covid-19 cancelled most Mother’s Day celebrations last year, New Jersey restaurants are gearing up for a busy holiday, preparing both take-out and dine-in experiences.
Here is a list of restaurants that will celebrate moms with creative menus, bottomless drinks, delicate desserts and family-style meals to make this Mother’s Day as memorable as ever.
A two-course brunch menu prepared by chefs Bill Dorrler and Jamie Metzger will be available at this Italian eatery from 11 am–3 pm. Bottomless Mimosas and Bloody Marys are included. Diners have a choice of assorted pastries, fresh tropical fruit or burrata (with black-peppered strawberries, arugula and lemon-poppy seed dressing) for the first course. The second course has more options, such as French Toast with berries, a chorizo and onion Frittata, Eggs Benedict (with prosciutto and spinach), Spaghetti Carbonara, Pesto Gnocchi, Branzino, and Lobster and Eggs. To top off your meal, add a dessert from a selection that includes Tiramisu, Cioccolato or a lemon Torta. $65 per person; $35 for children 10 and under.

B2 Bistro + Bar
This Shore bistro is curating a menu that will be available all Mother’s Day long. The brunch-inspired menu includes an assortment of dishes highlighting steak, seafood and fruit. Plates include Surf & Turf with lobster tail, a five-ounce filet and garlic mashed potatoes; Raspberry & Ricotta Pancakes with maple syrup and homemade whipped cream; crispy Lobster Cake Benedict with a poached egg, hollandaise sauce and home fries; and more. Crystal Springs Resort
The Crystal Springs Resort will host six Mother’s Day brunches, each offering a unique selection of dishes. The Emerald Ballroom will feature a buffet-style brunch with freshly baked pastries, local cheeses and an omelette station, while the Diamond Ballroom will feature a carving station (with prime rib) and a pasta station (with shrimp scampi and chicken Alfredo). The Black Bear Golf Club will have an assortment of hot dishes ranging from Chicken Francaise to Belgian Waffles, as well as Antipasto favorites like artichoke hearts, cured meats and marinated olives. Enjoy Crystal Tavern’s Breakfast Boards, complete with breakfast specialties, such as poached eggs, smoked salmon and avocado toast. Kites, the resort’s casual American grill, will be serving brunch and dinner, with delicious cocktails like a Bourbon Raspberry Smash and Watermelon Margarita. The two-course menu here includes something many moms will love: a complimentary glass of champagne. Appetizers include Tuna Tartare, Oysters & Crab and Pastrami Salmon Avocado Toast. For entrées, there’s Short Rib Hash (served with shrimp and poached egg), Sausage Pizza (topped with spicy chorizo), Woodfired Chicken and Titanic French Toast (with berries, whipped mascarpone and maple butter). A special prix fixe menu prepared by chef Richard Krug will be available for lunch and dinner with both dine-in and carry-out options. The two-course dine-in menu ($65 per person) features exquisite plates, including Lobster Crespelle (with mushrooms, leeks and Chardonnay butter), Roasted Beets Salad (topped with baked goat cheese), Pan Seared Diver Scallops, Lavender Roasted Duck Breast and more. Bistro D’Azur’s carry-out menu has family-style options that can serve two to four people. Many come with with salad, fresh bread and cookies. From 1 pm–7 pm, The Edge is offering a special Mother’s Day experience. The usual weekend brunch will be put on hold for a new dining menu featuring pasta, salads and entrées. Appetizers include Lamb Lollipops and Spicy Veal Meatballs. For pasta, there’s Tagliatelle in a creamy pesto and Pappardelle with smoked mozzarella. Smoked Korean Baby Back Ribs, Icelandic Cod and a Pork Chop with apple chipotle purée are just some of the entrées that will be available. Make your reservations online.

Salt Creek Grille
Co-owner Steve Bidgood has been celebrating Mother’s Day at Salt Creek Grille for more than 20 years. This year, Mother’s Day dinner will be served from 12 pm–7 pm with a menu full of options. Start off the meal with appetizers like Artichoke & Parmesan Spinach Dip, Stuffed Jumbo Shrimp and Vegetable Spring Rolls. Choose from entrées including Coffee Crusted New York Strip, Maple Dijon Salmon and Herb Chicken Breast. For dessert, enjoy Carrot Cake, Flourless Chocolate Cake or NY Style Cheesecake with a mixed berry sauce. Gluten-free and vegetarian options are available.

All New Jersey locations of this French-inspired sweet shop are celebrating moms with two limited-edition cakes available for pick-up and delivery. Each cake features fresh berries and is topped with sweet cream. The Very Berry Blueberry Chiffon Cake is a blueberry cake filled with blueberry soft cream and berries. It gets topped with blueberry soft cream and blueberry glaze. The Berry Special Mom Cake is vanilla cake filled with soft cream and sliced strawberries. Both cakes are available for pre-order starting April 26.

This Central Jersey breakfast spot is making brunch available at home. Two different brunch boxes are available for $55 each, both filled with an assortment of breakfast favorites. The Family Farmer’s Box includes eggs your way, pancakes, bacon, sausage and home fried potatoes. The Mother’s Day Box is filled with homemade banana bread, a bacon, egg and cheese wrap, sausage, yogurt parfait, fresh berries and cinnamon roll minis. Brunch Box orders must be made before May 7 for pickup on Mother’s Day from 8 am–10 am. Dine-in options are also available by reservation.

After recently bringing back Sunday brunches, Drifthouse is serving a prix fixe brunch on Mother’s Day for $55 per person, starting at 11 am. A Mother’s Day Dinner will also be prepared, featuring Lobster Dishes for $12 and Oysters for $1.50 (dine-in only). The new Italian-Mediterranean menu will also be available, with dishes like Branzino with Artichoke Hummus, Skirt Steak and Polenta Fries, and Organic Chicken with Root Vegetables. The Reeds at Shelter Haven
From 10:30 am–3 pm, The Reeds at Shelter Haven will host a brunch featuring an assortment of menus. Breakfast includes scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage, roasted red potatoes and Bananas Foster French toast. Entrées range from a smoked salmon platter to a carving station with prime rib to mustard and apricot glazed ham. Hot dishes include penne, chicken Francaise and cioppino with mussels, clams and calamari.

The second course features Scallops, Fusilli with Black Truffle, Guinea Hen and Crispy Rosemary Potatoes. For course three, enjoy Coconut & Milk Chocolate Budino and Strawberry Cheesecake. On Mother’s Day, Son Cubano will offer a special prix fixe brunch and dinner. To start the meal off on a high note, every mom will be greeted with a glass of sparkling rosé. Brunch is $55 per person and includes options such as Avocado Lobster Toast, Watermelon Salad (tossed in lemon mustard vinaigrette) and Fried Chicken and Waffles (with pickled rhubarb and apple).
