Tenafly Yoga Studio Opens Plant-Based Café; Other Dining News

Plus: Point Pleasant recently welcomed a brand-new Shore bar, while a Manhattan burger specialist has a new spot across the river.

Restaurant Openings: 

Kings of Kobe, Jersey City

This Manhattan burger specialist just opened a Jersey location. The menu highlights 13 signature burgers—made with Wagyu beef—and six hot dogs with creative toppings. Burgers include Queen’s Rule (crispy prosciutto, sweet chili relish, pickled jalapeño mayo) and Oh My Frita! (chorizo crisps, potato sticks, sofrito sauce and a runny egg). Drinks include the Crime of Passion, made with Irish whiskey, passion fruit, orange and crushed pepper. Open noon–9 pm from Sunday–Thursday, and noon–10 pm on Friday and Saturday.

Gin Rickey’s, Atlantic City

Live music and cocktails combine at Tropicana Resort from the same team that’s behind Wild Honey Smokehouse and Tavern. Music includes dueling pianos. Cocktails range from Negronis to strawberry daiquiris to a 42-ounce martini. On Fridays and Saturdays starting at 10 pm, there’s a late-night menu that includes sweet and savory Twisted Biscuits, topped with choices like pulled pork, chicken, cherry cobbler and apple pie. Open daily at 2 pm, with extended weekend hours.

XXVI Tavern, Basking Ridge

Located inside Basking Ridge Country Club, XXVI (26) Tavern debuted this month. The 133-seat space is open to club members and the public Wednesday through Sunday, beginning at 11 am. Chef Angel Rivera, previously of 1776 by David Burke in Morristown, offers an assortment of shareable dishes, salads, sandwiches, pizzas, tacos and daily specials. Open Wednesday and Thursday, 11 am–8 pm; Friday and Saturday, 11 am–9 pm; Sunday, 11 am–7 pm. Closed Monday and Tuesday.

The Spring Café, Tenafly

The Spring, a meditation and yoga studio, has a wellness hub that now includes a plant-based café. The menu items, made in-house daily with seasonal ingredients, include sandwiches (like the Sabich, made with eggplant on a toasted baguette), grain bowls, breakfast items and smoothies (such as Chocolate Cherry, made with organic cherries, raw cacao and Medjool dates). Coffee, tea and espresso—and, currently, the fall-inspired Spring Spice Latte—are also available. Open 8 am–6 pm from Monday through Saturday, and 8 am–3 pm on Sunday.

Boatyard, Point Pleasant

This brand-new Shore bar opened its doors in late September. The extensive menu features burgers, poke bowls, salads, appetizers, seafood and plenty more. The full bar offers happy hour Monday through Friday from noon–6 pm. The restaurant also offers Rise N’ Twine breakfast on Saturday and Sunday from 7–11 am.
