Bull Pen

The New York Red Bulls have a brand new stadium—in New Jersey, of course. The team will open a new $200 million stadium in Harrison.

Home, sweet state-of-the-art home: This month, the New York Red Bulls will leave the Meadowlands crowd and move into their own place—the just-finished, privately funded, $200-million-plus Red Bull Arena in Harrison. The 25,000-seat stadium features a cutting-edge translucent roof (which covers the spectators, not the field), two high-def video boards, seats a mere seven yards from the touchlines, and sightlines tailor-made for soccer. The decision to build in Harrison was an easy one; not only is it right on train lines, but the community is home to plenty of diehard soccer fans and has been an incubator for stars like Tab Ramos, John Harkes, and Tony Meola.
