A Recycle Site to Bank On

If you’re on a green bent for the New Year, sign up for RecycleBank.com. You’ll earn rewards and discounts to South Jersey merchants, and you’ll keep a lot of junk out of landfills at the same time.

RecycleBank gives you rewards for doing the right thing. Got a cell phone, MP3 player, or computer you need to get rid of? Recycle it through one of RecycleBank’s partners, and you earn points.

How about that couch, TV, or books you’ve been meaning to ditch? Put them up for swap on kashless.org, and you earn more points. Or maybe you’ve been watching Hoarders and realize you have too much stuff. If you’re a RecycleBank member, you can go through their site to the link for Got Junk, and you’ll earn even more points for letting them take your clutter.

You can use the points for discounts, gift certificates, coupons, and freebies at local businesses. Among the area partners are 19 Bar & Grill, Andreotti’s Viennese Café, Cherry Hill Mall, Flying Fish Brewery, La Campagne, Ponzio’s, Moorestown Running Company, Danzeisen & Quigley, Adventure Aquarium, and All Fired Up. RecycleBank has national partners, too.

To go a step further, petition your town to join RecycleBank’s recycling program, which gives you points for your weekly recycling.
