New Attractions Down The Shore

Here are some key new attractions to check out this summer.

On The Pier and In The Park

Go with the Flow
New this summer at Wildwood’s Splash Zone Waterpark is the Flow House, an outdoor picnic area including live music, dancing, food vendors and the FlowRider Double, a 40-foot inclined pool with continuous waves. Guests can try flow boarding, an innovative way to surf without worrying about pesky tides or rip currents. You can body board or surf standing. Wipeout? No problem. The current is engineered to feel like landing on a trampoline. —Joanna Buffum

Off-Roading It at Six Flags
Six Flags Great Adventure’s new Safari Off Road Adventure takes visitors on a 50-minute journey that guarantees close encounters with up to 1,200 animals from six continents. The adventure takes place aboard a five-ton truck modified to resemble a safari vehicle with open sides and canvas roof. The truck heads over rugged terrain, climbs hills and splashes across ponds to track down animals in their haunts—like the hippos’ watering hole. The journey includes a stop at Camp Aventura, a glorified petting zoo. Both attractions are included with the park’s general admission of $62.99. Discount tickets are available in advance at sixflags.com for $37.99. Junior park admission is $34.99.—Winnie Bonelli

AC’s New Parrothead Perch
Atlantic City’s Resorts Casino Hotel has a new island vibe. The hotel teamed with the Jimmy Buffett brand, Margaritaville, to open a 17,400-square-foot entertainment complex that includes tropical-themed restaurants and retail stores as well as a casino featuring 12 table games and 160 slot machines.
The Margaritaville Restaurant, with a giant blender at its Boardwalk entrance, offers dishes like the signature Cheeseburger in Paradise and features nightly live entertainment. On the beach side of the Boardwalk, the LandShark Bar & Grill has hot dogs, hamburgers and island-inspired pub grub. There’s also a 5 O’Clock Somewhere Bar and the brand’s first-ever coffee shop.—Amanda Staab
