Style: Dimly lit tavern with casual open dining room and greenhouse booth seating. Separate barroom offers bar, table, and booth seating. Twelve TVs, including two large flat screens, make it an ideal spot for game day.

Don’t Miss: The 35-item salad bar ($8.99; after 4 pm, $10.99) is a feast. Start off with lettuce or spinach, then choose from veggie toppings, six dressings, and cold sides like macaroni salad, hard-boiled eggs, pickles, and more. Save room on your plate for the fresh bread and butter at the end of the line. Generous is an understatement when describing the portion of Sloppy Nachos ($9.29) topped with Monterey Jack and cheddar cheese, refried beans, lettuce, tomatoes, and jalapenos. Sour cream and guacamole is served on the side. The jumbo wings have just the right amount of kick and are a steal at 80 cents each (six-wing minimum). You have your choice of buffalo, BBQ, or hot ’n honey. The ½-pound juicy angus burger ($6.99) served with lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, pickles, cole slaw, and extra crispy French fries is available on a bun or whole-wheat roll. For an entrée, try the pan-seared fresh Atlantic tilapia ($15.99). Lightly breaded and cooked in white-wine lemon sauce, it is served with your choice of garlic-mashed or baked Idaho potato and sautéed mixed vegetables. Or have your tilapia blackened and topped with Cajun sauce. Another favorite is penne with chicken ($14.99): pasta tossed with grilled chicken, thinly sliced ham, and green peas in a light pink sauce and served with garlic bread. The salad bar is included with all dinner entrées.

Heads Up: In football season, McCarthy’s offers a Direct TV NFL Sunday Game Day package. Pints of Miller Lite are $2 and pitchers $8.50. There is a $2.99 food menu during games.

The Scoop: The main dining room is available for private parties of 35 to 75 on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 am to 4:30 pm. If needed, early access is available for decorating.
