Atlantic Brain and Spine
Multidisciplinary surgical team at Atlantic Brain and Spine
Across New Jersey, patients with complex brain, spine, and neurovascular conditions often face long wait times, fragmented care, and limited access to subspecialty expertise. Atlantic Brain and Spine (ABS) is changing that—delivering a more coordinated, patient-centered model of care throughout the state. “At its core, our mission is simple,” said CEO Samantha Kelly. “We believe patients deserve thoughtful, precise care—not a one-size-fits-all approach.”
ABS brings together highly specialized neurosurgeons and orthopedic spine surgeons who collaborate to evaluate every case. Through structured spine conferences and multi-disciplinary tumor boards, patients benefit from multiple expert perspectives— helping reduce unnecessary procedures and improve outcomes. Nowhere is this model more evident than in spine care, where neurosurgeons and orthopedic spine surgeons work side by side to determine the best path forward for each patient. At ABS, no patient’s care is shaped by a single opinion—it’s shaped by a team.
This collaborative model is strengthened by the addition of fellowship-trained orthopedic spine surgeon Dr. Farah Musharbash, expanding ABS’s ability to deliver comprehensive, motion-preserving spine care and a more complete approach to complex spine conditions.
ABS is helping redefine how brain, spine, and neurovascular care is delivered across New Jersey. The practice works closely with referring physicians statewide, providing timely access to subspecialty expertise while ensuring continuity of care. This approach helps elevate the standard of care for patients and providers alike.
Innovation is central to ABS’s impact. The practice advances minimally invasive and robotic-assisted spine surgery, along with cutting-edge treatments for brain tumors and neurovascular conditions—designed to reduce recovery times, preserve function, and improve quality of life.
With continued growth, including its newest location in Edison, Atlantic Brain and Spine is expanding access to high-level brain, spine, and neurovascular care—bringing advanced expertise closer to home and redefining the standard of care across New Jersey.

Allen Scazafabo, partner and head of family law practice
Whether he’s consulting with clients on family law matters or coaching youth baseball and flag football teams, Allen Scazafabo strives to make a positive impact in his community.
As partner and head of the family law practice at Riker Danzig, Scazafabo makes himself as accessible as possible to clients. “I wish I could be even more accessible, but things do get busy at times,” he says. “My clients have my office number, cell phone number, and email, plus those of my associate and administrative assistant. We try to be extraordinarily responsive, whether it’s a substantive question or just an anxious client looking for reassurance. Overall, clients are very appreciative of that.”
He contributes time to the firm’s pro bono program and has served on an arbitration panel for the District Ethics Committee of the New Jersey Courts.
As for coaching, Scazafabo believes that role serves as a perfect balance to his demanding job. “Doing that with the kids grounds me—I really enjoy doing it, and it’s one way of giving back to the community,” says the lifetime baseball fan. “When you invest time in young people, you’re helping shape the next generation, and that means something.”

Aura Illuminated Shades from Hunter Douglas and Metropolitan Window Fashions
You might think window shades only block light. Not so anymore, according to Bruce Heyman at Metropolitan Window Fashions. “Rather than relying on overhead lighting or lamps to brighten up a room, the Aura® Illuminated Shade from Hunter Douglas comes with three different levels of opacity: sheer, room-darkening, and an illuminated window, thanks to an LED light in the headrail,” says Heyman. “Your window can be lit in a cool, warm, or white temperature, depending on your mood.”
Check out the exclusive Aura Experience Room at the Metropolitan Window Fashions flagship showroom in Green Brook, Monday through Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm. “It’s an innovative product that has never been seen before in our industry,” adds Heyman.
