Better Than Botox? Simply Venom Strikes the Market

You heard it here first: The hottest new anti-aging skincare is made with ingredients that mimic snake venom.

Simply Venom day cream
Simply Venom contains no actual snake venom, but replicates its ingredients.

That’s right. The latest in non-invasive, collagen-forming skin care agents is formulated with synthetic ingredients that copy muscle-relaxing viper venom.

This intriguing topical product, just hitting the market now, was developed by anesthesiologists Dr. Monica Lilore and Dr. Milija Milic who share 35+ years of medical expertise. Since the duo is skilled in the use of muscle relaxants, they saw a need for a non-invasive, skin-tightening solution that contains no fragrance, paraben, gluten or dye and is cruelty-free. (Actual snake venom is not among the product’s ingredients.)

Intrigued by the power of the Temple Viper snake’s venom, legendary for stilling the movement of its victim’s muscles, the doctors experimented with synthetic ingredients that would safely replicate the effect in a topical application. Clever, right? After collaborating with a homeopathic compounding pharmacist, their research and experimentation led to the launch of Simply Venom Skincare.

Lilore and Milic believe that their day cream and night cream, both made in the U.S.A., can decrease facial wrinkles and mimic the effects of medical-grade injectables like Botox and dermal fillers. In fact, they claim that the ingredients in Simply Venom have been clinically proven to decrease facial wrinkles by 52% after 28 days of application and boost collagen by up to 76% without a single injection. (I haven’t tried it yet, but the product is sitting right here on my desk and I plan to give it a whirl.)

“With so much mystery surrounding actual concentrations of active ingredients in current products on the market and realizing the complexity, expense and risks associated with many cosmetic facial procedures, we knew we had an opportunity to create something truly remarkable that delivers real results,” say Lilore and Milic. “Often, consumers have no clue what the ingredients are in the products they use, what percentage of active ingredients make the product effective, and if the product will really deliver. We are changing that by providing the active and key ingredients at the clinically recommended levels, revealing it all up front and listing them on the front of our packaging.”

The doctors recommend two pumps of day cream to a cleansed face and décolleté in the morning and two pumps of night cream before bed. Simply Venom Day Cream retails for $59.00/30ML and Simply Venom Night Cream goes for$69.00/30ML at SimplyVenom.com. (Although this online-only product isn’t in New Jersey stores yet, word has it that several big retailers are keenly interested in this most unusual product.)
