Bloomie’s Fall Trend Report: Go Bold or Go Home

Ruffles, velvet, metallics, denim and RED rule this autumn...

Bloomingdale's Fall 2017
Refined ruffles make a strong statement day or night.

I just checked out Bloomingdale’s carefully curated report of the fall season’s must-buy-now fashion statements and couldn’t wait to share it with you. Take a gander at these inspiring trends and start stocking up on all five covetable looks, just in time for autumn:

Head-to-toe red. Bright cherry red is one of the hottest shades of the season. This palette is especially jaw-dropping when you combine an entire scarlet spectrum within a single outfit. Try a crimson skirt, oxblood blouse, vermilion bag and scrunched-up ruby boots. No matter how you mix it, this totally tonal look will instantly up your street style.

Upgrade your velvet. Showcase decadent velvet in rich jewel tones as well as softer shades of blush, marigold and pale blue. Whether you get your velvet fix with a simply draped dress, deconstructed separates or playful accessories, you can revel in velvet embellishments with just about every wardrobe element.

High shine. Think shiny metallic boots, glistening handbags and sparkly jewelry. Start wearing patent leather and metallics as soon as the cool breezes blow and carry them through the holiday season. Dare to add luster to your daytime looks. No reason to reserve these classic pieces for after sundown.

Modern ruffles. Embrace refined ruffles for work shirts and turn to more feminine ruffles for date-night dresses. No-frills fashion is no fun, so show the world your girly style.

Statement denim. Sky’s the limit when you style denim your way. Fringed, frayed, glittering, adorned in pearls or embellished with crystals. Look for head-turning denim details in body-hugging jeans, then finish the look with just the right pumps or booties to anchor your super-hip look.

These and other of-the-moment looks are available at Bloomingdale’s in Short Hills, Hackensack, Bridgewater, Wayne and bloomies.com.
